The position is temporary on‑call for up to 1040 hours, requiring a valid Class A/B license, a clean driving record, and the ability to meet DOT/CHP inspections.

Qualifications

• Two years of verified truck driving experience with heavy construction equipment or trucks over 26,000 pounds.
• A good driving record; applicants with excessive driving violations will be disqualified.
• Valid Class B or Class A driver's license with a current Medical Certificate and no air-brakes restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate trucks, including pulling trailers, compressors, and pumps using safety chains and lift gates.
• Operate sweepers, maintain equipment daily, and lubricate units.
• Haul materials with dump trucks and power take-up units; dispense materials at sites.
• Mow and maintain grounds with multi-unit tractors and drive related equipment.
• Operate street flushing and air compressor equipment to load water and spray systems.
• Load/unload heavy equipment and construction materials; ensure loads are secure.
• Perform light vehicle maintenance and check fluids, tires, and fuses.
• Use two-way radio for information and safety reporting.
• Prepare daily driving activity and maintenance reports; document incidents.
• Assist with office tasks such as purchasing materials and supplies.
• Complete required DOT and CHP inspections and forms.
