Job summary

Guiding Hands Healthcare is seeking a Mental Health Group Facilitator to lead beginner-friendly, psychoeducational and skills-based groups for clients in San Diego. You will provide structured sessions on mental health, coping skills, emotional regulation, and trust-building within a supportive, trauma-informed framework.

Ideal candidates are Master's level clinicians (ACSW/AMFT/APCC or licensed therapists) with 1+ years’ MH/SUD experience, able to manage small groups (4–12) and complete timely

Qualifications

• Must be registered associate (ACSW, AMFT, APCC) or Licensed Therapist (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC).
• At least 1+ years of experience in MH/SUD settings (internship or practicum included).
• Comfortable facilitating groups of 4–12 clients.
• Must pass background, TB, drug screening, and provide liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate beginner-friendly, structured group sessions focused on topics such as Understanding mental health & substance use, Emotional regulation, Coping skills & self-awareness, Building trust in group settings.
• Provide consistency, stability, and positive reinforcement.
• Complete timely documentation and collaborate with the treatment team.
• Participate in group and individual supervision.
