Job summary

Centennial in Colorado seeks a Behavioral Health Transport Specialist to provide safe, trauma-informed transport to individuals receiving behavioral health services. You will work on scheduled on-call shifts, respond to dispatches, and collaborate with the Emergency Response Team, clinical staff, hospitals, and law enforcement.

You will perform vehicle safety inspections, maintain records, operate wheelchair lifts, and ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of onboarding, Emergency Response Team orientation, secure transportation training, HIPAA training, de-escalation training, defensive driving training, background screening, and other required certifications prior to independently accepting transport assignments.

Responsibilities

• Serve scheduled on-call shifts and remain available throughout the assigned coverage period.
• Perform and document a complete vehicle safety inspection at the beginning of each scheduled on-call shift.
• Safely transport individuals between hospitals, behavioral health facilities, crisis stabilization units, outpatient clinics, residential programs, or other approved destinations.
• Provide continuous observation and supervision of individuals before, during, and after transport until responsibility is transferred.
• Utilize trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and professional boundaries in all interactions.
• Maintain communication with supervisor, dispatch, and receiving facilities about assignment status.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and sanitize after each transport per infection prevention procedures.
• Assist clients entering/exiting vehicles and provide mobility assistance as trained.
• Safely operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices when required.
• Complete transportation logs and electronic documents accurately and timely.
• Use agency-issued devices, GPS, scheduling software, and documentation platforms.
• Report accidents, injuries, or emergencies to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintain compliance with Centennial policies, HIPAA, and relevant regulations.
• Maintain a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and required certifications.
