POSITION SUMMARY

Provides facility maintenance, janitorial support, secure transportation, and client monitoring services for Centennial Mental Health Center facilities and Emergency Response Team operations. This position supports both facility maintenance needs and secure client transportation services throughout the Center’s service area.

The employee performs scheduled maintenance duties during assigned shifts and provides secure transportation and client monitoring during emergency transport assignments. This role requires flexibility, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a variety of environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Responsibilities
  • Maintains buildings and grounds to a clean, safe and professional standard of appearance.
  • Performs janitorial duties including vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom cleaning, window cleaning, and related housekeeping tasks.
  • Performs minor maintenance activities including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and general upkeep as directed.
  • Conducts routine building inspections and reports repair needs to supervisor.
  • Maintains sidewalks, lawn areas, and exterior grounds including snow and ice removal.
  • Performs routine fleet maintenance including checking oil, brakes, fluids, tire condition, and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Assists with vehicle service scheduling and transport to maintenance vendors.
  • Utilizes the Maintenance Work Order system to review, update, and complete assigned tasks.
  • Operates power tools, lawn equipment, janitorial equipment, and other maintenance-related equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Travels throughout the Center’s service area to perform maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Prioritizes Secure Transport needs over maintenance duties and responds within 30 minutes of notification while on shift.
Secure Transport Responsibilities
  • Prioritizes secure transport needs over maintenance duties and responds within 30 minutes of notification while on shift.
  • Provides secure transport and/or ride-along supervision for clients transported by Centennial Emergency Response Team staff.
  • Provides monitoring and supervision of individuals assessed by the Emergency Response Team and hospital staff in hospital and community settings.
  • Assist clients safely entering and exiting vehicles and facilities.
  • Completes vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily.
  • Sanitizes transport vehicles after each use and maintains cleanliness standards.
  • Accurately completes activity logs, transportation documentation, Route Genie entries, and vehicle reports.
  • Communicate transportation and client status updates with Emergency Response Team staff and supervisors.
  • Operates GPS devices, cell phones, wheelchair lifts, and transport-related equipment safely.
  • Reports incidents, accidents, safety concerns, or client issues immediately to supervisor.
  • Adheres to all agency transportation policies, safety protocols, HIPAA standards, and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in required Emergency Response Team training and ongoing staff development.
Requirements
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE
  • General maintenance, janitorial, construction, or facility repair experience preferred.
  • Experience working in behavioral health, transportation, healthcare, or human services preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work effectively with clients experiencing behavioral health crises.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and calm demeanor in stressful situations.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance and janitorial procedures.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and operate maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Computer literacy includes email, smartphone applications, and documentation systems.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Center’s service area.
  • Ability to operate agency vehicles safely and maintain required licensure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds when assisting clients or transporting wheelchairs.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds for maintenance duties.
  • Ability to bend, climb ladders, crawl into confined spaces, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely assist wheelchair-bound or mobility-impaired individuals.
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, mechanical equipment, loud noise, and environmental conditions associated with maintenance work.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Employees must provide updated license documentation prior to expiration.
  • Subject to criminal background checks and random drug screening.
  • Must complete HIPAA training, Emergency Response Team training, and all required Centennial training programs.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including extended shifts, evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage as needed.
SCHEDULE STRUCTURE
This position may include:
  • Weekend, after-hours, or fill-in emergency transport coverage as assigned.
  • Schedule adjustments based on secure transport demand, staffing needs, weather events, facility priorities, or emergency response requirements.
  • Secure Transport coverage needs may take priority over scheduled maintenance duties when emergency transport support is required. Maintenance assignments.
