Job summary

Kettering Health Dayton is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time, first-shift role on-site. The incumbent will prepare the OR, pass sterile instruments to the surgeon, and support pre/postoperative care under supervision.

Required qualifications include an NBSTA-accredited associate degree or NCCT certification, plus 4 years of related experience. On-call with short response time may apply.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from NBSTA accredited program or NCCT certification.
• Four (4) years of experience as a surgical technologist with a High School Diploma.
• Four (4) years applicable on the job or military surgical technology training with a High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assist in selecting, setting up and passing sterile instruments to the surgeon and assistants.
• Maintain a clean, safe operating environment and infection control practices.
• Provide instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery as needed by the team.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative care as directed by RN.
• Demonstrate aseptic technique and support patient transport within the OR.
