Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking on-call substitutes to support after-school programs and emergency staffing. You will perform routine tasks, assist team activities, gather information, and ensure compliance while delivering strong customer service.

Minimum High School Diploma/GED; current DPS employees preferred; live in Colorado; adaptable to flexible hours; compensation is $21.50 per hour; substitutes are paid for hours worked and not required to maintain a regular schedule.

• Area of Relevant Expertise: Current DPS employees.

Responsibilities

• Day to day execution: performs routine transactions, assists team activities, interacts with stakeholders to solve problems or resolve complaints, gathers information, consults with management on actions to be taken in order to support short-term operations and ensure compliance.
• Documentation: performs data entry and verification, keeps accurate files/records, creates detailed reports, using various existing systems for accurate, timely, and compliant records.
• Customer service: receives, understands, and disseminates information to appropriate stakeholders. Answers questions, solves problems effectively and escalates appropriately. Demonstrates positive, optimistic and service-oriented mindset to ensure positive relations with stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement: contributes to identifying process inefficiencies and proposes solutions, identifies opportunities through external research on trends in resources, programs, and services and internal research with stakeholders, and supports improvement efforts in order to support long-term success.
