Job summary

Avon Board of Education in Avon, Connecticut is seeking an On-Call Substitute Custodian to provide general cleaning and light maintenance across campus facilities. You will assist with floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, classrooms, and offices, while supporting grounds upkeep and operating under the Head Custodian's direction.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning utensils and equipment and strong interpersonal skills to adapt to varying task demands.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the proper use of cleaning utensils and equipment, especially extractors, buffers, and related cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of proper building cleaning; and the ability to perform minor maintenance repairs as necessary.

Responsibilities: Basic functions are general building cleaning to include, but not limited to, floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, classrooms, office area and other areas as designated; also responsible for general upkeep of school grounds; works under the direct supervision of the Head Custodian.

Compensation: $16.50 per hour

Terms of Employment: On-call position, as needed.
