Job summary

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for an on-call Standardized/Simulated Patient position within the School of Nursing, Morrison Family College of Health.

This is an on-call role scheduled as-needed; pay is $20.00 an hour and work is performed on-campus in Saint Paul, MN. Under supervision, the SP provides nursing students with opportunities to develop therapeutic communication, interviewing, physical examination, and non-invasive technical skills in simulated

Qualifications

• Training and/or experience in theatre, film, education, communication, or behavioral sciences is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Memorizes scenario patient information and consistently portrays the “patient” with different learners.
• Portrays a variety of patient scenarios to meet the program learning outcomes.
• Maintains confidentiality of educational materials, cases, learner behaviors, and evaluation feedback.
• Participates in healthcare related interviews, assessments, and non-invasive procedures; on camera or live.
• Accept ongoing feedback from supervisor/trainer/peers and incorporate into case simulation.
• Demonstrate a professional demeanor consistent with a member of the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing.
