Job summary

Cal Poly is seeking a temporary, on-call backstage technician to support events in the Performing Arts Center. You will assist with moving and setting up equipment, and may help with wardrobe, wigs, makeup or props under supervision to ensure safe operation of technical gear.

The role requires reading and writing at a level appropriate for duties, following instructions, and performing strenuous manual labor including moving items over 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety.
• Ability to perform regular strenuous manual labor; ability to move heavy items over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical requirements for events in the Center.
• Move and set up equipment for events; support wardrobe, wigs, makeup or props as needed.
• Work under supervision of a Stage Manager or crew leader to ensure proper use of equipment and safety.
