Job summary

Wheaton Warrenville Unit School District 200 is seeking a Substitute/Guest Special Education Teaching Assistant to support classroom routines for students with special needs. You will assist teachers with supervision, care and instruction in a districtwide role and must be available on a daily, reliable basis.

Licensure options include paraprofessional educator credentials; a high school diploma with additional requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Must meet Illinois licensure options for paraprofessional educators.
• Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus required test/workkeys criteria.
• Candidate must be at least 19 years old and eligible for licensure.
• Background check and physical examination required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision, care and instruction of Special Education students under a teacher.
• On-call, as-needed position to temporarily replace a paraprofessional aide.
• Be available to work at least 3 days per week.
