City of Savage is seeking a seasonal Maintenance Worker to support the Public Works Department in keeping streets safe and clear during winter weather. The role involves snow plowing, de-icing, equipment operation, and general city maintenance, with on-call hours varying by weather and need.

The position requires a high school diploma, 18+ by November 1, 2026, a valid driver’s license, and passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old by November 1, 2026.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to call-ins to plow snow and de-ice road surfaces in assigned areas of the city.
• Operate light and heavy equipment to remove snow and ice from streets, trails, sidewalks, parking lots, and other public areas.
• Perform manual labor, including shoveling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving materials and equipment.
• Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of assigned equipment and promptly report mechanical or operational deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Work cooperatively with other divisions and departments in the maintenance of City infrastructure and facilities and the delivery of public work services.
