Job summary

Mercy House in Phoenix is looking for a part-time Shelter Specialist to support the Emergency Shelter Program during designated shifts. You will help with shelter setup, keep the facility clean, and conduct neighborhood patrols while providing crisis intervention and trauma-informed services.

Responsibilities include assisting with administration, guest services, and program activities as needed. Fluency in Spanish is of significant value, and on-call scheduling applies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, client-focused environment for shelter guests.
• Assist with shelter setup and maintenance and post service calendars.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility, including trash and spills.
• Receive and verify vendor orders and complete tally sheets.
• Set up and monitor audio equipment and signage for services.
• Organize supplies and facility needs; support guest services and activities.
• Conduct neighborhood patrols to minimize impact on the community.
• Assist with daily administrative tasks and reporting as needed.
