Job description

Join MGIC as an On-Call Security Guard in our Building Operations Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide security coverage at the security desk as needed to fill in for shift vacancies.
• Verify MGIC identification, monitor and enforce visitor logs and guidelines.
• Monitor all interior and exterior areas of the MGIC Plaza complex to observe, identify, and prevent unusual or hazardous circumstances and unauthorized access.
• Use the MGIC computer security system to verify employment status and authorization levels.
• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team for both medical and non-medical emergencies; administer CPR and AED when necessary.
• Monitor the loading dock, garage, fitness center and other secured areas of the MGIC complex using CCTVs.
• Monitor building automation alarms and alert Engineers if necessary; respond to computer-generated and mechanical alarms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to quickly respond to emergency situations.
• Ability to administer CPR and use Automated External Defibrillator (will receive training on site; must be certified within 45 days of hire).
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds and navigate several flights of stairs.
• Ability to conduct regular building rounds, standing or walking approximately 75% of the time.
• Effective communication skills with employees and visitors.
• Comfortable using a personal computer, building security systems, CCTV, and communication devices.
• Completion of high school diploma or GED.
• Coursework in Police Science or Security is desired.
• Military or Law Enforcement experience is a plus.
• Availability to cover all three shifts with short notice.

Pay

Pay Range: $22.01 – $36.32. The range reflects current market data and is adjusted by experience, skills, education, and training. It may vary by location to reflect local market conditions.
