Job summary

The Steamboat Springs School District is seeking qualified Nurses to provide substitute (temporary /on call) coverage for the School nurses on an as needed basis. This on-call position pays $42.27 per hour and is not eligible for benefits.

Qualified candidates must have their RN or BSN and active Colorado DORA nursing license and have an active or be able to secure the CDE Nurse special service provider license.

Qualifications

• Must have RN or BSN and active Colorado DORA nursing license.
• CDE Nurse Special Service Provider license or eligible within 1 month of hire.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage health records securely.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including monitoring student health and administering medications.
• Train and supervise health staff in basic healthcare procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, parents, and school staff to implement health plans.
• Ensure health records compliance with FERPA and state regulations.
• Administer emergency first aid, CPR and AED per district protocols.
• Manage health budget and supplies for the health office.
