Job summary

Estes Park School District R-3 is seeking a Substitute Registered Nurse (RN) to provide health services in the absence of the regular school nurse. The role requires current Colorado RN licensure, CPR/AED (BLS may be required), and the ability to work independently with students across the district.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license valid to practice in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff for illness, injury, and other health concerns.
• Assess student health needs and determine nursing interventions, referrals, emergency responses, and return-to-class recommendations.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to provider orders and district procedures.
• Follow and implement health plans, EAPs, medication orders, and health protocols.
• Support IEPs and 504 Plans with appropriate nursing services.
• Respond to medical emergencies and activate EMS when indicated.
• Maintain confidential documentation of health visits and treatments.
• Communicate health concerns to parents/guardians and school staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Follow infection prevention and disease procedures per district and public health guidance.
