Job summary

Wicomico County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to support health services in a school setting. This on-call, part-time role requires nursing licensure (LPN or RN) in Maryland, CPR certification, and the ability to manage the health suite and handle medications for students.

Applicants should have strong English communication skills and be able to perform essential physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an LPN or RN and eligible to practice in Maryland.
• CPR certification is required.
• English communication skills required when deemed necessary.
• Preferred at least 1 year of LPN or RN experience.
• Must be physically able to operate medical equipment and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the health suite for students.
• Assess illnesses or injuries and determine appropriate action.
• Administer first aid and emergency care.
• Administer prescribed medications to students.
• Complete forms for student accidents and report abuse or neglect.
