Job summary

Fremont RE-2 School District is seeking a Substitute Custodian to provide temporary custodial support in the absence of regular staff. You will perform routine duties to maintain a clean, safe school environment across classrooms, halls, restrooms, and facilities.

The role follows district cleaning procedures and safety guidelines while supporting operations of district buildings and grounds. Substitutes are on-call and assignments vary by district needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial care of buildings and grounds preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning products used for custodial services.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Assist with trash and recycling removal throughout school facilities.
• Assist with basic building maintenance tasks as directed.
• Follow district safety procedures and facility protocols.
• Support building setup and cleanup for school events or activities when needed.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Work cooperatively with building staff, district staff, students, and community members.
