West Valley School District #363 is seeking a Substitute Custodian to provide custodial services across district facilities, ensuring a safe environment for staff, students, and the community.

The role is on-call with training provided; it offers opportunities to move into a permanent position. You will clean classrooms and common areas, remove snow, secure buildings, and follow safety procedures; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license or evidence of mobility.
• Successful Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint clearance.
• I-9 verification of identity and employment eligibility.
• Completion of district-required training within 30 days from hire date.

Responsabilités

• Clean school facilities (classrooms, offices, restrooms, gym, cafeteria, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
• Arrange furnishings and equipment for meetings, activities, and events.
• Remove snow and de-ice walkways and steps.
• Keep floors clean and well-maintained.
• Raise and lower the US flag at start/end of each school day.
• Perform daily exit checks; ensure doors are open and panic bars work.
• Open/close building and secure doors and lights as required.
• Follow procedures for storage/disposal of building site waste.
• Be familiar with cleaning products and equipment used in building maintenance.
• Know building use procedures for outside groups.
• Maintain clear hallways and exits; keep sidewalks and play areas neat.
