Job summary

Pocahontas County Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian to provide temporary custodial services during the absence of a regularly assigned custodian. You will help maintain school buildings, facilities, and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition to support student learning and operations.

Assignments may include day/evening shifts, summer cleaning, special events, or other custodial coverage as needed, in assigned school locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED as required by WV Code §18A-2-5
• Criminal background check as per WV Code §18A-3-10
• Ability to perform essential duties

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and other areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, buff floors; maintain surfaces.
• Clean, sanitize, restock restrooms; dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Perform minor maintenance and report facilities concerns.
• Assist with events, meetings, and groundskeeping as needed.
