Job summary

Crook County School District seeks a Substitute School Custodian for the Maintenance location. This on-call position performs general cleaning duties and supports building operations with a Lead Custodian supervision.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent; candidate must relate well to students, staff and the public, follow written and oral instructions, and comply with a drug-free workplace policy. Duties include basic custodial tasks and safety reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to relate well to students, staff and the public.
• Ability to read, understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.
• Adherence to drug-free workplace requirements per federal guidelines.
• Ability to perform custodial functions at the level expected in the building.

Responsibilities

• Fills a position designated for School Custodian.
• Performs general cleaning duties: sweep, scrub, wash and polish floors; vacuum rugs and carpets; dust walls and furniture.
• Clean restrooms, windows, and fixtures; empty waste containers; replace light bulbs.
• Assist in moving furniture and setting up/cleaning cafeteria as required.
• Perform basic maintenance on custodial equipment and report safety hazards.
• Secure buildings at end of shift; participate in routine maintenance during breaks and non-student days.
