Job summary

Canon City Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian to support district facilities on an as-needed basis for the 2026-2027 school year. The position pays according to the Operations Salary Schedule, with a starting rate around $15.16 per hour, based on experience and education.

Responsibilities include cleaning, light maintenance, and assisting with activities around school buildings. Requires a high school diploma (preferred) and a valid Colorado driver’s license; background check and

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma preferred; experience in custodial, food service, or transportation is preferred.
• Background check required; valid Colorado driver's license may be required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and listen for directions and safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and safety of buildings and grounds.
• Assist with breakfast/lunch setup and supervision as needed.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and proper storage; ensure safe operation.
• Move furniture and assist with events; respond to requests from Head Custodian.
• Follow district policies and protect data security; work with minimal supervision.
