Job summary

Canon City Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian to serve District-wide on an as-needed basis for the 2026-2027 school year. Start date aligns with the new academic year, with hourly pay determined by the Operations Salary Schedule.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), a valid Colorado driver's license, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and a criminal background check. Training and safety guidelines are provided through the Substitute Handbook.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in custodial, food service, or transportation roles preferred.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license required.
• Criminal background check required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow supervisor instructions in assigned department.
• Maintain supplies and keep them stocked and stored properly.
• Ensure equipment is clean, safe and properly maintained.
• Set up and supervise breakfast/lunch and after-school activities as needed.
