Job summary

Westwood Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria Substitute to work on call Monday through Friday for 4‑7 hour shifts, typically 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The General Worker Substitute will assist the Lead Cook and Cooks to prepare school lunches and follow the National School Lunch Program standards.

The entry pay range is $18.30–$20.34 per hour, with steps based on experience and qualifications. Work is on-call, aligned to the school year, in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or recognized.
• ServeSafe Certification required; may be obtained after hire.
• Allergen Training required; may be obtained after hire.
• CPR Certification required; may be obtained after hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow menus and HACCP guidelines to prepare school lunches.
• Maintain safe and sanitary food handling practices.
• Record temperatures and maintain serving line records.
• Assist in dishwashing and keep a clean as you go environment.
• Communicate clearly with Lead Cook and team.
