Job summary

Windsor Public Schools is seeking reliable individuals to work as On-Call Substitute Food Service Workers throughout the district. Substitutes assist in cafeterias and kitchens with food preparation, serving, cashiering, cleaning, and other general duties to ensure safe, nutritious meals for students.

Assignments vary by need and may include food prep, serving, cashiering, cleaning, stocking, and related duties. The role reports to Cook-Manager, Assistant Cook-Manager, and Food Service Director.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, cafeteria, or food preparation experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation according to recipes and guidelines.
• Serve meals to students in a courteous manner and maintain proper food temperatures.
• Operate school meal POS system when assigned and process transactions accurately.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas and equipment.
• Receive, store, and organize food and supplies following FIFO procedures.
