CHARLES WRIGHT ACADEMY seeks an On Call Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, with occasional field trips and extra trips as designated. The role is on-call in Tacoma, WA, with shifts around morning and afternoon peak times. Required are a valid Washington CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements, Medical Examiner's Certificate, and first aid certification; a clean driving record is essential.

This position is non-exempt and hourly, with 5:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Valid Washington CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements; current Medical Examiners Certificate and first aid certification; driving record free of chargeable accidents or traffic violations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain discipline of students and report misbehavior.
• Check vehicle equipment and fuel prior to each departure; report any irregularities or trouble with equipment.
• Maintain consistent safety standards and pre-trip reports.
• Participate in bus driver safety meetings, training courses as scheduled by the Transportation Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
