Job summary

Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, NC is seeking a part-time Safety Attendant / Property Attendant on-call to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff during events and daily operations.

You will perform patrols, gate control, basic first aid, incident reporting, and maintain security across the property. Flexibility, calm decision-making, and CPR/first aid certification are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must be first aid/CPR certified and Blood borne trained.
• Knowledgeable in fire codes, safety and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to stay calm and make clear, confident decisions in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with friendly, helpful customer service and provide general information upon entry.
• Monitor and maintain control at the entrance to deter and prevent unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
• Assist with crowd and traffic control during peak times, events, or emergencies.
• Conduct routine safety patrols by vehicle and on foot, both on and off campus.
• Follow procedures for gate operations, patrolling, and responding to fire alarms.
• Administer basic first aid as needed and report incidents.
• Report vehicle accidents details to Highway Patrol as required.
• Ensure buildings are secured by scheduled lock/unlock procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned
