Job summary

Caring Hospice Services is seeking an on-call RN to provide direct patient care after hours with a focus on pain and symptom control for hospice patients. The role includes a Saturday-Sunday shift from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and requires PA RN licensure. A $5,000 signing bonus is offered.

Responsibilities include rapid response to calls, prioritizing patient needs, and communicating findings to the physician while guiding families regarding pain and symptom management.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed RN in PA.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to relate to and treat terminally ill patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with emphasis on pain and symptom control.
• Handle after-hours calls and respond promptly to the answering service.
• Communicate pertinent findings to the physician and implement the medical plan.
• Identify problems/needs of patients or caregivers and make recommendations for pain and symptom management.

The RN on-call provides direct patient care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to hospice patients after hours.

Shift: 8a.m-8p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Must be Licensed as an RN in PA.

Ability to relate and treat terminally ill patients/families and their particular problems.

Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skill.

Access to reliable automobile with proof of liability insurance.

Communicates pertinent findings to the physician, implements medical treatment plan, instructs family accordingly.

Identifies problems/needs of patient of caregiver, making recommendations for pain management and comfort/symptom management.

Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize.
