Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks an on-call Respiratory Therapist to support long‑term care residents in California. The role involves setting up and operating respiratory devices, performing arterial blood gas procedures, and monitoring ventilation under physician orders.

You will conduct chest physiotherapy, nebulizer treatments, and ensure accurate documentation. The position requires BLS and a California license, with ACLS preferred, and availability for on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Current California Respiratory License is required.
• NBRC RRT credential preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain purpose and procedure of treatments to residents and caregivers.
• Operate IPPB, oxygen devices, nebulizers and related apparatus.
• Perform arterial puncture and operate blood gas analyzer when needed.
• Set up and monitor ventilators for patients with limited spontaneous ventilation.
• Conduct chest therapy, including percussion and postural drainage to mobilize secretions.
• Record treatment data and patient responses in respiratory care records.
• Maintain and sterilize respiratory care equipment and supplies.
