Job summary

BNSF Railway in Helena, MT is seeking a Clerk for a Guaranteed Rotating Extra Board (GREB) role. This on-call position covers clerk duties in Helena, MT, with 24/7 on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Training is provided on the job, and the role involves data entry, station/yard tasks, and customer service.

Daily work occurs in a safety-sensitive environment with varied weather, loud equipment, and heavy machinery. Union rules apply, and relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Able to work now and in the future without employer sponsorship in obtaining employment authorization.
• At least 18 years of age or older by anticipated start date.
• Valid CDL with H endorsement or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
• Able to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work safely in the stated working conditions.
• Able to work the above shift/hours.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish colors and signals in the work environment.
• Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive motions.
• Able to bend, walk, stand and sit for several hours with breaks.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE as required.
• Basic level skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Transport train crews in a BNSF crew van in varied traffic conditions.
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks including station and yard office duties and data entry.
• Stock Clerk duties: ordering, tracking, and managing materials and inventories.
• Provide customer service support through correspondence, waybilling corrections, and track/trace updates.
• Support operations with electronic waybilling and process related tasks as needed.
