The role requires knowledge of plumbing codes, the ability to obtain required certifications within a year, and readiness to serve on a 24-hour call for emergencies. Salary is hourly and commensurate with certification and experience.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local plumbing codes and ordinances, and ability to interpret/apply them.
• Ability to obtain required certification within one year of hire.
• Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures of construction and plumbing trades.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with property owners, co-workers, and contractors.
• Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and outcomes.
• Ability to serve on 24-hour call for emergencies.
• Possession of valid Indiana driver’s license and demonstrated safe driving record.

Responsabilités

• Inspect plumbing installations and repairs on-site for compliance.
• Enforce plumbing codes and issue citations as needed.
• Investigate citizen complaints and recommend corrections.
• Maintain inspection records and submit reports to agencies.
• Advise owners and contractors on applicable plumbing codes.
• Serve on Plumbing Control Board.
• Work on 24-hour call for emergencies.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
