Job summary

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of construction/inspection experience, a valid Illinois plumbing license, and cross-connection certification. The position requires flexibility to work weekends/evenings and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in general construction and inspection of plumbing systems.
• Thorough knowledge of State of Illinois Plumbing codes.
• Ability to read and understand complicated plumbing plans and blueprints.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess an IL State Plumbing License and related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections during plumbing construction to ensure code compliance.
• Review plumbing, sewer, and gas permit applications for code compliance.
• Inspect residential, commercial, and industrial occupancies to ensure proper plumbing installations.
• Prepare reports and communicate field data to contracts and health officials.
• Coordinate Illinois EPA cross-connection control and rebate programs as directed.
• Perform related duties and be flexible for weekends/evenings as needed.
