Job summary

The Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) seeks qualified individuals to join a pool of on-call Registered Nurses for the 2026-2027 school year. MSD provides a bilingual environment for deaf and hard of hearing students from birth to age 21, located at Columbia Campus, Ellicott City, MD.

This on-demand role supports direct nursing care across the school day. Responsibilities include medication administration, health status assessment, and maintaining health center operations and records.

Qualifications

• Current RN license from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
• Three letters of recommendation.
• On-call substitute role for a 10-month school year.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed (oral, topical, inhalation, injection).
• Assess, evaluate, and monitor students’ health and identify nursing needs.
• Maintain accurate nursing care records and observations.
• Maintain the student health center facility.
• Provide auxiliary duties as needed.
• On-call substitutes must be available.
• This is a contractual position.
