Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Pathologists Assistant in Indianapolis, IN, on-call. The role performs gross examinations of surgical pathology specimens under appropriate supervision and coordinates specimen labeling and accessioning.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required; NAACLS approved training is preferred. One year of surgical gross experience is preferred. On-call employees may receive a 401(k) plan with company match up to 5% and potential annual bonus.

Qualifications

• 1 year of surgical gross experience.
• Meets requirements outlined in corporate SOP for Non-Pathologist Performing Gross Tissue Examinations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine gross examinations of surgical specimens.
• Ensure proper accessioning, labeling and integrity of specimens.
• Describe gross anatomy and ensure all lesions, markings, and sutures are mentioned.
• Dissect specimens and prepare tissues for histologic processing.
• May oversee grossing technicians and provide training.
