Job summary

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles Inc. is seeking a Residence Attendant for the Good Shepherd Center on-call in Los Angeles, CA. The role supports three residential sites, providing front-line supervision and safety for women and children experiencing homelessness, with overnight shifts and shift documentation.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and crisis management experience is preferred. On-call benefits include sick time and voting leave; shifts typically run 11pm–7am.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Experience working in homeless services preferred.
• Experience with crisis management and conflict resolution preferred.
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction and Housing First.
• Understanding of poverty and women's homelessness, multiculturalism, trauma and health issues.
• Awareness of communities disproportionately represented in homelessness (color, LGBTQ+).
• Must pass Live Scan/background check.
• Work shifts are 11pm–7am, possible other shifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet participants and visitors; provide front line supervision at a residential program.
• Promote housing guidelines at the Residence sites in a trauma-informed manner.
• Answer phones; provide general information and referrals.
• Ensure participants comply with guidelines to ensure safety in residence.
• Document participants' daily activities via shift summaries.
• Maintain residential facility cleanliness as needed.
• Serve and prepare meals for participants at interim housing sites.
• Conduct facility rounds to ensure safety of participants and sites.
• Duties vary based on site needs; other duties may be assigned.
