Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA) seeks an In-House Donation Specialist for the Center for Hope at St. David's Medical Center.

The role evaluates donor referrals, optimizes medical management, and coordinates organ recovery with ORC, hospital staff, and the Medical Director. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in health care, an RN license with 3–5 years of critical care experience, BLS, and ACLS/PALS within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health care or related field.
• Registered Nurse with three to five years of experience in critical care.
• Demonstrates teamwork, clinical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a high stress environment.
• BLS certification.
• Obtaining ACLS and PALS certification within 24 months.
• Working knowledge of standard office equipment (computer/fax/copier).
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurability for automobile insurance.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift at least 50lbs.

Responsabilités

• Accepts on-call responsibilities and performs referral evaluation on-site per Clinical Services Policies.
• Evaluates medical suitability of potential organ and/or tissue donors using medical records and current health status.
• Collaborates with physicians and hospital staff to develop referral management plans from initial referral through death declaration or DCD evaluation.
• Identifies legal next-of-kin per state and UAGA statutes.
• Assesses family dynamics and offers donor discussions sensitively respecting cultural needs.
• Obtains UDRAI and asks follow-up questions as clinically relevant.
• Coordinates with ORCs to obtain clearance for organ recovery with legal authorities.
• Documents donor-related activities in confidential records and databases.
