Job summary

Montebello Unified School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant I (As-Needed) to support daily food service operations at district nutrition centers. You will help with basic food preparation, serving meals, cashiering and sanitation to ensure clean, healthy environments for students and staff.

The role involves setting up serving areas, monitoring portion sizes, assisting with inventory, and maintaining accurate meal counts and temperatures in accordance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or school nutrition preferred.
• Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale system.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Basic math and cashiering skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up serving areas and portioning food.
• Serve students, staff and faculty at service lines and mobile carts.
• Perform cashiering duties and handle money and change.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of nutrition centers and equipment.
• Assist with inventory and record-keeping of food usage and temperatures.
