Job summary

Conejo Valley Unified School District is seeking a Child Nutrition Assistant I to prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold menu items in the school cafeteria. You will participate in cooking and baking of main dishes, breads and desserts, and assemble ingredients according to portion standards.

The role requires six months of experience in quantity food preparation, knowledge of sanitation and standard utensils, and the ability to follow instructions, count money, and work cooperatively.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Child Nutrition Assistant I or equivalent in another quantity food prep setting.
• Knowledge of quantity food preparation including washing, cutting and assembling items.
• Sanitation principles applicable to child nutrition and kitchen maintenance.
• Knowledge of standard kitchen utensils and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold menu items.
• Participate in cooking and baking main dishes, breads and desserts.
• Prepare fruits, vegetables, cereals and desserts; assemble ingredients per procedures.
• Maintain food service facilities, equipment and utensils in clean, sanitary condition.
