Job summary

Shp-Management in Chicago seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to assist with facilities upkeep across two sites, reporting to the Building Superintendent. You will handle general maintenance, work orders, preventive maintenance, and keep common areas clean and safe.

We require at least 3 years in property maintenance, with knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair and grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in all facets of property maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, grounds maintenance, roofing, flooring, etc.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
• Ability to accept responsibility and be dependable and trustworthy.
• On-call rotation availability and safety equipment usage required.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Prepare apartment turnovers within guidelines.
• Clean community buildings, laundry rooms, offices, shop, and grounds.
• Daily debris removal from property and parking lots.
• Coordinate with Superintendent/Property Manager for inspections and repair follow-ups.
• Respond to emergencies (snow, fire) as directed by management.
• Submit incident reports within 24 hours of occurrence.
• Accept maintenance requests only from Supervisor/Property Manager.
