Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Texas to install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, piping, and controls. You will oversee preventive maintenance programs and troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical issues to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on skills with machine tools, welding, and equipment inspection, plus experience in reading blueprints and ensuring safety standards are met in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program through an employer or trade union is a plus.
• Degree or certificate in a maintenance or technical field from a trade, technical school, or community college is a plus.
• Requires 3-5 years of related maintenance (i.e., electrical and mechanical) experience.
• Practical experience with manufacturing, assembly, and welding equipment.
• Practical experience and working knowledge of Preventive Maintenance systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
• Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Repair faulty equipment or dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
