Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a flexible on-call Substitute Teacher to support our mixed-age Montessori classrooms (0–6). No formal Montessori training is required; we provide training during orientation and onboarding, and you’ll help maintain a calm, nurturing learning environment.

As an on-call role, hours vary and you can work part-time or supplemental hours. You may move into full-time Assistant Teacher roles, gaining experience in a supportive, respectful school community.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
