Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a flexible on-call Substitute Teacher to support mixed-age classrooms (ages 0–6) when regular teachers are away. No formal Montessori training is required; we provide orientation and onboarding to help you thrive in our supportive environment.

You’ll rotate through several classrooms, assist with daily routines, create a warm, calm learning space, and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction
