Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking friendly, reliable substitutes to support mixed-age classrooms when regular teachers are out. This on-call, as-needed position offers flexible hours and a chance to contribute to a calm, nurturing learning environment for children aged 0–6.

No formal Montessori training is required; orientation includes training. Substitutes often advance to full-time Assistant Teacher roles, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive community while building skills for a career

Qualifications

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.
• ECE units (preferred).
• Recent experience with children ages 0–6 (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
