Stars Behavioral Health Group seeks an On-Call Mental Health Worker for the 24/7 Crisis Residential Unit in Merced, CA. Shift options include AM, PM, or NOC with on-call coverage and flexible scheduling.

Starting compensation ranges from $17.46 to $19.00 per hour with benefits, time off, on‑the‑job training, and CEU opportunities. Driver’s license is required; prior direct care work is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
• One year of full-time direct care experience preferred, or one year of non-professional consumer-directed internship in mental health.

Responsibilities

• Promote and assist clients with self-help skills in eating, hygiene, grooming, and other daily activities.
• Monitor clients’ attendance at assigned activities and maximize participation through motivational techniques.
• Conduct and assist activity groups and community outings independently.
• Encourage client interaction and socialization with peers, providing feedback on appropriate behavior.
• Accurately document each client’s attendance and response to activity and counseling in the medical record.
• May be required to operate a company vehicle to transport clients.

Working Location

Working Hours/Shift

On‑call shifts available for coverage: AM (6:00–2:30), PM (2:00–10:30), or NOC (10:00–6:30). No set schedule—coverage depends on program needs and applicant availability.

What You Bring

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a social science field preferred.

24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16‑bed facility for adults (ages 18‑59) providing rehabilitation and recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation, pre‑vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services.
