Job summary

RISE is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Nicholson Gateway at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. The role involves completing service requests, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to keep a premier student housing community operating at its best.

You will work on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, painting, and carpentry, participate in an on-call rotation, and help ensure move-in ready apartments with strong customer service and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• EPA Certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests accurately and efficiently.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, painting, and carpentry issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Prepare apartments for new residents by completing high-quality apartment turns.
• Maintain appearance and functionality of common areas, amenities, and grounds.
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls as part of the on-call rotation.
• Accurately document completed work orders and communicate with residents regarding repairs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, equipment, and shop organization.
• Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.
• Work closely with the property management team to deliver an outstanding resident experience.
