Job summary

RISE: A Real Estate Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Nicholson Gateway at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. This hands-on role handles service requests, apartment turns, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs to keep the student housing community running smoothly.

You will diagnose HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, painting and carpentry issues, perform on-call rotations, document work orders, and maintain inventory while upholding OSHA safety policies.

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• EPA Certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general carpentry.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work indoors and outdoors.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests accurately and efficiently.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, painting, and carpentry issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Prepare apartments for new residents by completing high-quality apartment turns.
• Maintain the appearance and functionality of common areas, amenities, and grounds.
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls as part of the on-call rotation.
• Accurately document completed work orders and communicate with residents regarding repairs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, equipment, and shop organization.
• Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.
• Work closely with the property management team to deliver an outstanding resident experience.
