Job summary

BR Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Gary, IN to join our property management team. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, and support repairs to keep apartment homes in top condition.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience in maintenance or equivalent field
• Must be EPA certified
• Possess your own basic tools to perform building maintenance
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• Ability to pass a criminal background check is required
• Must be willing to work on an on-call rotation

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete preventative maintenance activites and assist in updating records
• Provide excellent customer service in fixing maintenance requests; ensure timely resolution
• Complete maintenance service requests involving drywall, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and respond to emergencies and property disasters
• Complete all maintenance work orders within assigned timeframe and prepare vacant apartments within five business days
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace HVAC equipment (furnaces and condensers)
• Troubleshoot and repair appliances (stove, refrigerator, etc.)
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws including Fair Housing laws
