Job summary

City of Oviedo is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support construction, maintenance and repair of city facilities and infrastructure on an on-site basis. The role involves operating light and heavy equipment, performing groundskeeping, and responding to emergencies as part of a rotating on-call schedule.

Candidates should be at least 18, with 3 months of related experience, and possess a valid driver license (Florida) with the ability to obtain a CDL if required for department operations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs semiskilled tasks in construction, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure.
• Operates equipment such as dump trucks, tractors and mowers under supervision.
• Installs, repairs and maintains drainage facilities, fences, landscaping, and walkways.
• Patches asphalt, grades areas, and finishes concrete as required.
• Responds to emergency call-back work after hours on a rotating basis.
• Works as essential personnel during special events, natural or man-made emergencies.
• Assists with groundskeeping, mowing, and equipment maintenance.
