Job summary

Rain Rock Casino Resort Hotel is seeking a Line Cook to prepare, cook, and present menu items in accordance with recipes and quality guidelines under the direction of the Executive Chef. This role supports daily kitchen operations, maintains food safety standards, and contributes to efficient back-of-house operations to deliver a high-quality dining experience for guests across all outlets.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card as required by local health regulations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid RBS certification in accordance with California ABC requirements.
• Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
• Set up and stock assigned cooking stations with necessary ingredients, supplies, and equipment for service.
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with health regulations.
• Ensure all food items are prepared and served in a timely manner to support efficient kitchen and guest service operations.
• Follow proper time and temperature controls to ensure food safety and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations, kitchen equipment, and preparation areas.
• Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, portioning, marinating, and preparing ingredients for service.
• Ensure proper rotation and labeling of food products following FIFO inventory procedures.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and team members to ensure smooth coordination during service periods.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries when required, ensuring proper storage and rotation of products.
• Monitor product quality and notify kitchen leadership of shortages or issues.
• Support banquet, catering, and special event food preparation as required.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and assist other kitchen staff when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or kitchen leadership.
