Job summary

The City of Oviedo is seeking a Lift Station Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lift stations and associated equipment. You will maintain SCADA systems, pumps, valves, meters, and related controls, reporting to the Collections Utilities Supervisor.

You must have a Florida driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class B CDL with tanker within one year, plus a Class C Collection Technician certification within eighteen months.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED plus related training; one year of college in mechanics/electrical systems preferred.
• Requires two years of mechanical repair experience, including electrical pumps and related equipment; SCADA/telemetry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, maintains, repairs, and installs lift station SCADA systems.
• Maintains instrumentation devices like pump control units and flow meters.
• Performs diagnostic measurements and data gathering with meters and gauges.
• Installs and repairs piping, valves, pumps, and electrical controls up to 480V.
• Responds to emergency work orders for lift stations and water issues.
• Performs preventative maintenance on pumps and valves; reads meters.
• Operates jet-vac truck for cleaning and pumping at lift stations.
• Maintains and repairs air release valves and records maintenance actions.
