Job summary

Tolono Public Library District is seeking a substitute clerk to cover shifts as needed. You will greet patrons, assist with circulation tasks, and support staff by handling inquiries and library services.

This part-time position requires strong customer service, basic computer skills, and the ability to work well in a team or independently. The role includes opening/closing procedures and helping with programs and resources. Salary is $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with computers, email, and Internet.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional customer service to patrons in person and over the phone.
• Registers new library patrons, checks materials in/out, and assists with services.
• Maintains confidentiality of patron records.
• Promotes library programs and resources.
• Assists with opening/closing procedures and shelving.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
